Feds balk at Google book deal, hopes for changes

Everything at Frankfurt was massively overshadowed by Bugatti's new four-door concept, the Galibier 16C.

Wonderfully striking, it uses the Veyron's W16 engine with twin mechanical superchargers, plus four-wheel drive.

The gorgeous body and chassis are a combination of aluminium and carbon fibre and there are no less than eight canted exhaust pipes.

Bugatti insiders say they want to build the world's fastest, most accelerative saloon, so power is likely to be over 800bhp, with a top speed of nearly 240.

I love the detailing. Like the tight '57 Atlantique-inspired central spine that runs along the roof and rear window. You can even take the Parmigiani clock out of the dash and wear it on your wrist.

And then there's the bonnet that opens up on both sides from a central hinge like a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. Compared to the heroically clumsy Porsche Panamera, this Bug is an absolute stunner.

And so it should be at a rumoured price of £900,000. Quite rightly, Bugatti owner VW has to gauge customer reaction before committing to production. But the proposed run of just 300 cars wouldn't even satisfy the Saudi market.

There are enough bling-obsessed multi-millionaires in the world to create a waiting-list measured in years, not months.
